Angry LTE

Our local oldster, quotes "Revered Founders", conservatard LTE writer got my goat.

Jeebus on a  cracker!! This guy is just a sweet old pussy face in person, but his LTE's are just venomous. A few notable diatribes: Ok the title: 'State of dependency’ then the absurd false assumption ' feigned outrage of liberals ', our outrage is feigned because we are wrong , right?. Continues with 'opinions are based on emotional jabberwocky, not logic. ' The jabberwocky card, nicely played I must admit. What exactly is a jabberwocky though? This is good , ' the leitmotif of progressivism is dependency '.Wow, how does an opposing LTE's counter that? Here's how. Feel free to distribute and copy, yes. I am the prince of progressive LTE's!! Bow before me and wash my feet!

Note, the cranky old writer's name is Hans something or other.

"Maybe old Hans can plow a path by himself all the way to the grocery store across snow swept mesas, cross various waterways and trade some gems of wisdom plucked from World Nut daily for his victuals, but I doubt it.  Leitmotif - recurring theme. Hans growls in his recent LTE that "the leitmotif of progressivism is dependency”, not true. Progressives are human beings who believe in fairness and equal rights for all, not just those who can buy access to the political system and or mass media. We are all dependant on our fellow human beings and the communities there of. In Croeber's black and white worldview my concern for the well being of desperately poor children is “feigned outrage “. Feigned? Hans, have you visited any school where this program is offered and actually interacted with the kids? My day to day duties bring me in direct contact with children who are in "dire need". My concern is not feigned sir! You know my devotion to the rearing and nurturing of our community’s children is real and ongoing, you personally have supported me through our church. Thank you for your generosity. Those kids are the lucky ones though; they have parents or guardians who are positively involved in their lives. Truly, the love and tenderness Becky and Butch just give and give is a miracle of human caring and love. It may surprise you to learn that even some of those children qualify for and desperately need basic help with nutrition. Finally, that $14 trillion debt that you imply is caused by miniscule school meal subsidies. The US national debt started to literally explode upward in 1980 with the election of Ronald Reagan and the subsequent supply side fiscal policies, aka trickle down economics. Whatever label one puts on it, reducing taxes while wildly increasing spending has not worked as promised. This country is facing an enormous problem, how to eliminate deficits and pay down the debt. Progressives believe that everyone is responsible, but least of all, the children who are hungry, poorly clothed and are desperate for an education. Is it moral to require further sacrifice from the very children who will grow up in a nation hobbled with a debt that they did not ask for, did not benefit from and yet will be the very ones to pay it back?  Your cynical blame game does nothing to alleviate the actual suffering and hunger of children. Who cares why they are coming to school hungry. You, me, all of us have a moral obligation to provide the basic necessities for their survival! Survival, do you hear me? Survival! Hans often (every LTE?) quotes some wisdom from early American historical figures, which is great. Those were some radical, revolutionary, free thinking people. I would prefer  to quote the wisdom of someone who is actually living in the same world and time as us, “Your old road is  Rapidly agin' - Please get out of the new one  -  If you can't lend your hand For the times they are a-changin” – Bob Dylan, poet, musician, spiritualist."

Applause, thunderous ovation.
